This knitting guide includes a step-by-step tutorial with photographs, diagrams, and videos so you can perfectly understand how to read the diagrams in this pattern and any other.

The pattern contains a brief historical overview so you can understand the origin of the garment, an explanation of the gauge swatch, as well as tips and techniques to ensure your garment's finish is impeccable.

For the calypso-colored shawl, I used a 100% Viscose Light Fingering yarn (26 WPI). I used 150 grams and 480 meters (fringe included). For the fuchsia-colored shawl, I used 100% Bamboo, also Light Fingering, and used a little over 200 grams (fringe included).

A 3.0 mm crochet hook (or the size needed to obtain gauge) and a larger one (I used a 4.5 mm one) to help you attach the fringe.

It's one-size-fits-all! You can knit this shawl to whatever length and width you desire. It's fully customizable. You start at the point and increase in width and grow in height until you reach your desired size.
