Pixel Vest Crochet Pattern

The Pixel Vest is a garment knitted from a central granny square, to which rows are added on the sides to create armhole and neckline shaping. It's a simple garment to construct and you can knit it in wool, acrylic, merino, alpaca, or another more wintry fiber for the cold, or in cotton, bamboo, or linen for a lighter material, transforming the vest into a summer garment, like a top.
The pattern is for a Size S/M, but includes instructions for knitting it larger or smaller, all depending on the number of rounds you make for the central granny square.
Try different color combinations, enjoy mixing textures, and even vary the length; you just need to add rounds as desired.

This pattern comes in a 14-page downloadable PDF, which contains photos with some of the steps, diagrams, written explanations, and a link to a video where I teach you the 1/1 Rib stitch, which you will use to make the vest's edgings.

1-. Worsted weight yarn (10 WPI). The amounts will depend on how you want to mix the colors and the size you are knitting.

The 100% Acrylic vest uses:
150 grams (300 meters) of beige yarn
45 grams (90 meters) of turquoise yarn
45 grams (90 meters) of fuchsia yarn.

The 100% Cotton vest uses:
100 grams (125 meters) of black yarn
110 grams (138 meters) of white yarn
150 grams (188 meters) of fuchsia yarn.

2-. 6.5 mm crochet hook (or the size needed to achieve gauge).
3-. Tapestry needle.
4-. Sewing scissors.
5-. Measuring tape.
6-. Optional: Stitch markers.

Gauge: Using worsted weight yarn and a 6.5 mm crochet hook, 10 double crochet stitches and 6 rows create a 10 x 10 cm square.

This garment is designed to be crocheted in a size S/M, but is easily adaptable to other sizes.
